The Spanish Film Festival
In Term 2, ECSC commemorated the Spanish Film Festival, which is an annual celebration of film and culture from Spain and Latin America.
The highly anticipated Festival celebrated 25 years in 2023 and befitting such a milestone, presented a 32 film strong lineup that offered exciting, inspiring and entertaining viewing in two key programme strands: New Spanish Cinema and Cine Latino.
The many highlights included a focus on Women in Filmmaking, featuring the work of seven prominent Spanish and Latin American female directors, the 2023 Spanish Film Festival was a celebration of Spanish language, culture and cinema.
A small group of our best Spanish students from our college were granted a trip to the Kino Cinema in the city, to view a Spanish made film called 'Full of Grace- Llenos de Gracia' which was part of the festival.
The movie was presented in Spanish with English subtitles, and students got to immerse themselves in the language and culture while enjoying some small snacks from the snackbar.
