Interschool Sports

2023

Interschool Sport is back for 2023!

Edgars Creek Secondary College has continued it's Interschool Sport program for 2023.

"Recapping Term 2 and Beginning Term 3"

A large number of students took the opportunity to sign-up, tryout and be apart of a wide range of sports across Term 2, and to start Term 3.

"One last ride together."

Senior Boys Soccer kickstarted Term 2, when the teams made up of Year 11 & 12 students battled it out at Langama Park in Sunbury on Thursday 4th May.

Both teams consisted of students who were both starting their senior journey as Year 11s, but some embarking on their final sport opportunity at ECSC. All students upheld not only the college values as seniors, but also the leadership and teamwork qualities needed to compete. The boys fought right to the end, falling short in the final 1-0.

"Badminton Madness."

Badminton Gala Day saw over 40 students across Year 7, 8, Intermediate and Seniors head out to compete in a Gala Day against all schools in the Mickleham division on Monday 8th May. Students competed in both singles and doubles competition in what was highlighted as "a day of fun, but a day of madness."

"Netball News"

Tuesday 9th May, Friday 26th May and Tuesday 6th June saw multiple Netball teams across Year 7, 8, Intermediate and Seniors head to Boardman Stadium to compete.

A big congratulations goes out to the Intermediate Boys Netball team, who won their final and progressed to the next round of Regionals taking place at NETS Stadium, Macleod.

"Inaugural ECSC AFL Team"

ECSC produced its "first ever" AFL team when the Year 7 Boys AFL team headed out to compete on Thursday 1st June. The boys fought extremely hard across all three games, winning two and losing one. The boys fell just short of making it through the the next round, but were congratulated on their efforts across the day.

"Soccer Round-up"

Soccer produced multiple successful sport days out, when the Year 7, 8 and Intermediate Boys & Girls teams took the field at Langama Park on Friday 26th May, Thursday 1st June and Monday 5th June.

These days saw the Year 7 Boys, both Year 8 Boys and Girls and Intermediate Boys soccer teams win all their pool games and their finals to successfully progress to the next round of Regionals, which are taking place during Term 3 at Darebin International Sports Centre.

Finally, Term 3 will see Intermediate, Year 7 and Year 8 basketball teams take their shot at making it through to Regionals, as well as a wide range of Regional rounds for the previous successful teams take place.

We are looking forward to another great Term of Sport!
