What’s Happening in Careers?

Year 10

The boys heard from Head of Learning Areas in Performing Arts, English, PE and Outdoor Education and Digital Technologies. There are so many exciting courses! The boys were given detailed information about what is involved in each course and how these might support them in their pathway. The powerpoints for these presentations will be sent out so parents can keep up to date with the information that the boys are receiving.

Year 11

The Year 11 students have been on exams and work placements. We trust that they have learnt a lot over the past two weeks.

There are a few good opportunities coming up for this year group:

Applications Open for 2024 National Youth Science Forum

Applications close 31 July

The NYSF program is a 10 day science camp run in Canberra and Brisbane in January for students going into Year 12 who are interested in science, technology, engineering and maths.

The program provides participants with outstanding STEM experiences, opportunities to see a range of careers and you will meet students who could be colleagues throughout your career.

West Australian applicants are encouraged to contact their local Rotary group as Rotary supports this program where possible. You can find out about scholarships HERE.

Year 12

The Year 12 students have been on exams and work placements. When they return in Week 7, the General students will work on completing their ADWPL documentation and the University bound students will work through entering their preferences with TISC.

If students have not already done so, please register them with TISC so they can complete this process.

Early Offers are available this year and students will be receiving information about this in their Careers session. Offers will not be sent out until July this year.
