Secondary Notices

It was such a joy to witness the secondary school coming together for a great day of Athletics on Thursday, May 11th. There was wonderful house spirit on display.

Many students competed in multiple events to boost points for their house. There were also several standout individual performances. Including some broken records in various events. The carnival culminated in the 100m relays with each house passionately cheering on their team. A number of students will now progress through to HRIS and we wish them well.

The House spirit will be on display again on Friday 26th May (Week 5) as we come together for House Music! This year it will be based on the Brisbane Street Campus due to the ongoing carpark works which are coming along well. As such, all students will begin and end the day at BSC on the day of house music. Students should make their own way to and from BSC. This promises to be another wonderful edition of House Music in the life of our school. Parents are also welcome to attend for some or all of the event. More information to come.

2023 Careers Expo

On Wednesday, 17th of May, our Year 10 and 12 cohorts will be attending the Careers Expo at the TREC. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to meet prospective employers, industry leaders, universities, accommodation providers, TAFE and other training providers and ask lots of questions. There will be a record 105 exhibitors covering numerous industries. We are encouraging all students to engage in at least 5 conversations with different exhibitors. We encourage parents to attend if available, however if work commitments don't allow, It would be great for parents to have follow up conversations.

Transport to and from the event will be provided by the school. Students are required to wear their full winter uniform with blazer.

It's the second straight year our Year 10 scientists have made their mark on this Challenge organised through the University of Newcastle. They'll put their Science and STEM brains to the test in August.
