House Music - The tradition continues

On Friday 26th May we witnessed another great edition of House Music. This offered both our Year 9 and 12 student leaders wonderful opportunities to lead from the front. Most importantly it was a great occasion for demonstrating House spirit! It was fantastic to see the enthusiasm as each House competed against the others. To see students step outside of their comfort zone and give it their best. The quality of the performances was certainly a feature.

Thank you to all the students and staff for their work in rehearsing and supporting the day. It was also fantastic to see many parents come and enjoy the performances and lunch together. Cuthbert took out the Calrossy 7-9 Choral Performance, while Sheean took out the Senior Secondary Choral performance.

This meant that the overall result came right down to the wire, but in the end the mighty Sheean House were victorious on the day. This was fitting given the standout performances of the Sheean ensemble performing Taylor Swift’s “Love story”, and the Sheean Senior Choir performing ABBA’s “Super Trooper”.

Well done to all on a great day! It was an excellent way to finish off our Week of Wellbeing. To view the performances click the link below

Special Thanks

Thanks to Nam Tram for his contribution to the House Music photo Gallery.  His beautiful images are able to be downloaded from The HUB.

We also managed to take these two photos of the students that worked tirelessly on Friday to serve tea and coffee for our special guests who visited Calrossy for House Music.  Thank you for your service with a smile.

Sickness

On a different note, there is a lot of sickness going around at this time of the year. If your son/daughter is symptomatic, then we encourage them to get tested and remain at home until symptoms have passed. Thank you for your support and understanding with this.

Assessment feedback

As we near the end of another term, our students are preparing for end of unit assessment tasks. We are encouraging all students (and parents) to access the assessment tab on The HUB to keep up to date with all their due work. Further details about specific tasks can be found on each page at the Assessment Notification.

As always, students are encouraged to access free tutoring in both libraries at lunch and after school.  A timetable of when teachers are available can be found on The HUB in Secondary notices.  This is another great way that we can work together in support of the students with quality teaching and learning.
