Principal's Report

This is a Hello and Farewell all in one, from me!

As I leave you this week and return to Ferntree Gully, I was hoping, as we all were, that we would be out of Lockdown….which number are we up to?....and I would have had the opportunity to meet you all face to face. Thanks to all of you that I have had the pleasure of meeting, talking to via phone and/ or virtually, it has been just lovely! You really do  have an aesthetically pleasing environment with lovely, community minded play areas for the lucky students who attend Launching Place Primary. The students I have been fortunate enough to meet and work alongside during my short stay, I have found to  be engaging, articulate and extremely welcoming. I will always remember the children, in my very first week at Launching Place, decorating my desk in flowers, in appreciation of my arrival.

On a personal note, I would like to extend my appreciation and gratitude in particular to Audrey, Jacqui, Debbie and Chezelle for their invaluable support and assistance during the last 6 weeks. I tell them constantly that they are worth their weight in gold! To the Aides who have worked onsite tirelessly each and every day, I cannot thank you enough!  All of your effort and expertise has been highly valued. To all of the teaching staff  who have worked tirelessly to provide ongoing learning and support to our students, families and myself during these challenging times, I thank you. You all deserve a well-earned rest.

Enjoy the two weeks holiday and here’s hoping we will hear of a break out of Lockdown in some way, shape or form, very soon.

In case you are wondering, although a die-hard Richmond supporter, GO MELBOURNE!
