My Five WHYS: Extra

A few final thoughts on Why 5 - Hope.
Why Number Five - Tūmanako - Hope
Right now Hope is a commodity we all could benefit from. Each day we are checking out the number of new cases, and at time of writing, the hope-producing trend is downwards.
Our children are resilient, but they are also vulnerable. Their brains are developing. They do not see and process the world as we do.
Children do not have the level of experience, knowledge, maturity, understanding and ability to rationalise-within-a-bigger-picture that we have as adults.
This is why it is important we do not burden children with worries that are beyond their ability to cope with. This is also why Hope is important for children.
A Dandelion can be a good symbol of Hope.
- Hope is like the dandelion gently blowing across the fields
- Hope flourishes in unexpected places and thrives in unfertile soil
- Hope spreads rapidly and is very difficult to kill
- Hope always brings a smile to the face of everyone it touches
Hope is - the breath of life. Where there is breath, there is hope.
