Garden to Kitchen

GROWING TOGETHER

CHATS, CHICKS AND STYLISH SCARECROWS

What a week! Our first ever garden meet online. It certainly had a bit of everything in it. Good looking hosts 😍, poor sound 🙄, a new family of scarecrows 😍, some with the wrong hats and wigs (oops sorry girls) 😬, a bunch of beautiful new chicks (thanks preps) 😍 mixed with a bunch of beautiful old chickens 🐓.

We were lucky enough to have a royal visit from one of our world famous blue tongue lizard Queen Elizabeth. There was a visit into the hothouse to see if our freshly planted seeds had germinated and……THEY HAVE! All credit must go to our trusty garden team and ‘The Hothouse Flowers’.

Plans for garden meet number two:

Load up with heaps of questions. We want to know what you want to know 🤪. Animals, plants, scarecrows …… this is your show about your garden.

Prepare a small space for broad bean planting. I will have a table set up outside the school office. You will be able to collect a broad bean party pack. It will contain all you need to grow your broad bean. Remember plants grow better when you sing love songs to them. Start thinking of what yours will be. Maybe you could practice on your mum, dad, cat, dog….. I’ve been singing ‘Endless Love’ to our compost scarecrow Sally. Don’t tell Louise but I think she seriously loves me 🥰!

Chick naming competition. We have seven chicks that need naming. On our garden table there will be a pencil, paper and box to place your favourite name in. Good luck 🤞.

Free herbs. When you pick up your party pack feel free to collect a little bunch of herbs. They are bundled with much love for you and THEY’RE FREE!

‘Chewing the fat with a chook’ - Our new segment will focus on one of our chooks. Who will it be this week? Your clue is ….. hula hoops.

We will have a little seed planting pack avaliable to pick up from the front gate from Monday 1pm for anyone who wants to join the Garden crew virtually on Thursday afternoon!

BE THERE 2pm Thursday

MAY YOU BE WELL AND HAPPY 🌻❤️🙏
