Trial exams will now be completed remotely with exam papers to be collected from Killester College in Week 10. Parents and students will be advised of the date and time for these collections.

I hope you have all been weathering the latest lockdown well. There have been a HUGE amount of opportunities for students to attend online events regarding courses, industries and institute open days. I encourage parents and students of ALL Year levels to sign up to the News Feed on the Killester Careers Website as I regularly add an array of events I am notified of. The Year 12 VTAC Interviews to date have been going well and all students are reminded they are all eligible to apply for SEAS for Category 1 Personal Information and Category 4 Difficult Circumstances. Category 4 allows provisions for remote learning. Students need to work through the questions and are advised to select 'yes' for 4.6. Join Dr Anna McMichael, Head of Strings at Monash, and Monash String teachers for a fun day and take part in an open masterclass with special guest and MSO concertmaster, Dale Barltrop.

Jazz & Popular Music audition info session

Wednesday 8th September

The 2021 Jazz and Popular Music Audition Information Session is a one-hour online seminar (via Zoom) for jazz and popular instrumentalists and vocalists. This session will provide insight into the audition requirements, and guidance for the audition process (i.e. performance, repertoire, aural test, & interview) for entry to the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance. It will also offer key information on the Bachelor of Music. We encourage both mature age applicants and students currently studying years 11-12 to register. Register here.

Swinburne 2022 Early Entry Program | Application deadline extended

To give students enough time to submit their applications to the 2022 Early Entry Program after attending our Swinburne Open Nights, we’ve extended the application deadline to Monday 6 September. As a result, school representatives will have until Friday 10 September to submit their school recommendations.

Victorian Youth Congress Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity for young Victorians aged 12-25 to work with the Victorian Government to advise on the development of policy and programs relevant to young people. The 2022 Victorian Youth Congress will play a key role in implementing the new Victorian youth strategy, due to be released later this year.

The Victorian Youth Congress is the Minister for Youth’s advisory body and gives young Victorians the chance to learn more about government, positively influence change, develop professional skills and build networks with other young people interested in making change.

This initiative is looking for young people who enjoy working in a team and have a strong interest in issues relevant to young people across the state. Previous experience in advisory groups or working with government is not required; what matters is passion and potential. Applications are open now until Monday 13 September.
