Science Week

Our fabulous Science Team of Laura Kitching, Jordan Tate and Steve Crook have put together a wide range of science experiments for students to complete as part of our ‘Food: Different By Design’ Science Day on Friday.

We hope that this day allows families to take a break from traditional remote learning and allows the students to learn using fun, hands-on science experiments.

If you would like to upload any photos or videos of your children’s experiments, please visit this link: Science day photos.  If you do not wish to have any images of faces published, please only upload images/videos of the experiment.  This link is also available on the remote learning site.  You will need to be logged into your child’s Croydon Hills gmail account in order to upload photos and videos to this folder.

On your child’s remote learning website, you will find that the Friday pages have already been published to allow families time to source any materials required.  Most of the materials are common household items, though others are easily purchased from the supermarket.  Please note that participation in the day is entirely optional and families can choose to engage with as many experiments as they would like.

Book Week

As well as Science Week, this week is also Book Week.  Through their learning tasks and Google Meets this week students have engaged with a range of texts that were shortlisted for this years CBCA (Children’s Book Council of Australia) awards.

It has also provided a great opportunity for students to share their love of books and reading with their peers.  We have postponed the dress-up part of this day until the students can celebrate it together when we are all back on site.
