Principal's Report

Welcome Back For Term 3

Welcome back everyone for term 3. It has been great to see students and staff back at school, looking refreshed and happy, engaging with learning and play.

Exciting News- A New Playground

During the holidays we were delighted to receive confirmation from the Hon. Michael Sukkar MP and Rotary Club of Maroondah that were successful in our application for a new playground at the front of the school as part of the Federal Government’s Stronger Communities program!

Construction of the new playground will start in the coming weeks and it will be located between the current front playground and the carpark.

A massive thanks to Michael Sukkar MP, Rotary Club of Maroondah for their support, and our School Council for driving the project.

Staffing Update

This term we welcome  back Ms Simone Ryan who will be taking all students for science lessons in the STEAM lab. Simone has been on family leave and will be a very familar face to those students whom she has previously taught.

It was also, with pleasure, that we welcomed Mrs Jenny Turner into 12B on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for the remainder of the year working with Mrs Cailtin Lindsay.

Christopher Kent will be in an acting principal role at another school. We are currently advertising for a full time classroom teacher in the 56 unit.

Sibling enrolments for Foundation 2024

Does your child at Marlborough have a younger sibling due to start in Foundation next year? If so, it is now time to enrol. Please contact the Office to collect a Foundation 2024 Enrolment Pack or you can print out the attached enrolment form and return to the office by 28th July.

It is important to follow the statewide timeline to enrol your child in Foundation. Enrolling your child in line with the timelines allows us to plan our classrooms, staffing and transition activities and ensures your child has the best start to school. There is detailed information about the enrolment process below.

If you have any questions about our Kinder Transition Program or questions about starting Foundation classes, please contact me.

Kinder Transition Coordinator and 2023 Foundation Teacher.

Head Lice

We have had a number of reports of students with headlice across the Junior, Middle and Senior areas.  Could Parents/Carers please check your child's/children’s hair and treat accordingly if required.

Please find attached information on headlice and how to treat.

Curriculum Days

Just a reminder to all parents that the remaining Pupil Free Days for this year are Monday 11th of September (last week of term 3) and Friday the 17th of November.

Bookings for Camp Australia are currently open for those parents requiring their service.

Junior School Council

Thank you to everyone who donated money for the Royal Children's Hospital on the last day of school. We raised $208.85, which will help children with life threatening illnesses.

Thank you,

Pippa Davis and Lisa Mackney (Operational Leaders)
