What's Happening in our Classroom

What a great start to the term, the preps have settled really well. 

English 

In English, the students have been reading ‘Room in the Broom’ and ‘The Gruffalo’. They have been writing describing sentences about those characters in the books. They have been also retelling the stories that they have been reading and finding double consonants words in those books.

Mathematics 

In Mathematics, the students have been collecting data by asking yes and no questions and putting them on the graph. They have also been exploring teen numbers by using different materials.  

Last Term

Last term we were lucky to have one of our parents, Laura read a story to the grade preps. Laura read the story “The Red Beast” and spoke about how we get angry sometimes. The students explored different ways to control their anger. They got to draw what their red beast looks like and also draw strategies of how to control the red beast. Thank you Laura for this amazing lesson, they students really enjoyed themselves.
