Changes to Prep time

Prep time (homework for the old schoolers out there) has new times for all students. We now supervise prep Monday to Thursday evening’s 7 to 8pm. Students that require more time can continue studying in their rooms.

AFL trip

The recent AFL trip on June 10th was a hit for those students and staff who attended. DFO shopping before leaving Perth had the bus loaded with some new clothing items.

Laundry

Please make sure all clothing items that go through the College laundry have your name clearly labelled. Lost property is an ongoing issue as clothing is not clearly labelled.

After School Activities:

Yet another busy term in Residence. Students were lucky enough to have four weeks of free yoga as an introduction. This will continue into Term 3, the cost is $20 for four weeks on site with Bonnie our Yoga teacher.

We found two fine Monday afternoons to go black bream fishing at the Hay River this term. Students love this pastime and we are hoping to do more of these activities when the weather permits.

Sport, Sport ,Sport

Wow it has been busy for students and staff with regular training sessions for our Country Week teams. Boys basketball, mixed touch rugby, two netball teams and two volleyball teams. Some teams have had scratch matches against local teams to get some important game time up! We depart Sunday June 25th for our week of Country Week sports. Outside of Country Week we have trained and played in hockey, soccer, AFL and netball in local comps.

Students sick during the day program

Students who are unwell in the mornings will see the Deputy Principal or Residential Manager before 8.10am. If the student is deemed unwell or unable to attend class/farm they will return to dorm. Usually, one day in dorm is acceptable, if they need another day then it is suggested that students go home to recover. We have had many students during the term present with cold and flu. Students do get checked regularly during the day and have meals delivered to their dorm. If students are unwell all day, they are required to remain in dorm for the evening with dinner brought to their dorm.

Dorms locked during the day program

Recently we have had many Year 10 students wandering to dorm during meal breaks Monday to Friday during the day program. A and C dorms (Year 10 dorms) are now locked once students leave at 8am. Students can gain permission to enter if they have forgotten items during the day with permission from staff such as the Residential Manager or Deputy Principal.

Leave for end of term

A busy end to Term 2, we have Year 11’s/12’s on work experience, students heading to Country Week and Year 10’s have a modified program for week 10. Please put in your Reach leave to reflect this please. Return to the college after 2pm on July 17th.
