Semester One Reports

This is a busy time of the term for teachers and instructional staff finalising assessments and student reports. Semester One Reports will be emailed home as per the Term 1 Interim Reports. The first round of OLNA results will be included in the report. Students who have not passed the OLNA in Literacy and/or Numeracy will have a second chance in early September.

Student Stationery

It appears students are bringing minimal stationery items to class. It would be great for parents over the school holidays to complete a stationery audit and update the items required for class.

Year 11 General PPS fieldwork at Lights beach carpark June 14th

In week 8 the Year 11 General Plants Production Systems class took an excursion to the revegetation site at Lights Beach. Under the supervision of expert staff from the Shire of Denmark, students planted native seedlings and installed protective screens on the dune banks around the carpark. It was a rewarding experience for the class who had previously undertaken seed collection and transplanting activities with the Shire staff on a previous field trip. The College has been involved in land conservation and revegetation efforts at this site for several years now, and progress can be seen in the many native plant species that have taken root in the redeveloped landscape.

Year 11 ATAR APS Revision Session in the Park

The Year 11 ATAR Animal Production Systems students had a productive study session away from the classroom and out into the sunshine and fresh air. They grabbed a coffee at the local cafe and headed to Denmark's nature park for an intensive Q&A session in preparation for their exam. Good luck Year 11 ATAR's with your upcoming exams!

Year 11 General APS excursion to Fletchers International Abattoir

The Year 11 General APS students visited Fletchers International Abattoir last Friday. They had a guided tour of the facilities and processes, and it was a fantastic wrap up to the feedlot activity the students conducted back in Term 1.

Last Week of Term 2

All the best to our students who are competing in Country Week and to our Year 11 and 12 students participating in work experience.  The College is running a modified educational program which is compulsory for our Year 10 students who are not participating in Country Week.

I would like to thank the staff and students for a productive Term 2 and wish everyone a safe and restful school holiday.
