Year 5 Camp Reflection by 5R

In the last week of Term 2 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the Year 5’s went on camp to Cave Hill Creek. Lots of students had fun and wanted to go again. There was a great disco and many students enjoyed the experience.

Food

The food there was delicious. The dinner was good, we had meatballs, mash potato, garlic bread and mixed salad. Some people liked it, but some people didn’t. Inside the food court, it was quite cold, but when they turned on the heater it was much warmer. On the second day for breakfast, we had cereal, toast with butter, and jam. It was really good.

Activities

Everyone loved all the activities but the favourite was canoeing. One of the students, Caitlin C said “I liked the canoeing and crate stacking, I liked the crate stacking because I got pretty high, and was enjoyable. I also liked canoeing even though it was raining.” All the lovely staff taught us many skills during archery, canoeing, crate stacking, bush cooking, bouldering, giants’ ladder, low ropes and map reading.

Disco

At first the disco was alright, it was not too crazy. Then things started to escalate and we started the limbo. A lot of people got out, then only five people were left. The winner ended up being Ryan W. Samuel N screamed the loudest in the girl’s vs boys screaming challenge. After everyone screamed their lungs out we did a boys vs girls dance battle, Manuka S and Ryan W danced the most out of everyone.

Camp was a blast and everyone is so thankful for the Year 5 teachers and helpers. We hope we can go again next year.
