Music
During their classroom music lesson in week one of this term, students in Years 1 to 6 participated in music activities to celebrate NAIDOC Week. They learned about the importance of elders for Aboriginal people and the role that music plays in Aboriginal society. Students listened to a variety of songs written by Aboriginal artists and discussed the elements of music and meaning of the text for each song.
Students listened to the following songs:
- Change Has To Come by Mo’Ju
- Freedom by Mau Power and Archie Roach
- Come Together by Lee Kernaghan, Mitch Tambo and Isaiah Firebrace
