Year 6

Phoenix Soar

Phoenix Soar is a new program for primary schools, delivered by the South East Melbourne Phoenix NBL basketball club.

The four week program aims to equip senior primary students with the knowledge and skills they need to recognise, regulate and speak openly about their emotions.

Combining athlete storytelling, group discussion, classroom activities and game-based learning on the court, the program provides an engaging experience for all students.

The topics covered in the Phoenix Soar program include:

  • Personal Strengths
  • Recognising Emotions
  • Emotional Regulation
  • Help-Seeking

Year 6 students will participate in the Phoenix Soar program on Tuesday 25 July, Tuesday 1 August, Thursday 10 August, and Tuesday 15 August.

Program information has been published on Compass. Consent is required now and not later than Sunday 23 July. Please note that the program cost of $31.50 per student is being subsidised in full by EHPS; there is no cost to families.

Graduation

The graduation celebration for our Year 6 students will be held on Thursday 14 December.

Planning is underway, and the Graduation Committee are seeking help to make this special celebration a success.

  • Have you got a background in design or contacts in printing for the Year 6 yearbook?
  • Do you know a DJ or photo booth operator who can give us a great deal?
  • What about a supplier of decorations or other cool things we can add to the Year 6 showbag?
  • Are you a carpenter or have contacts that can help us out with an awesome keepsake that the Year 6s can decorate?

If you can help us out with any of these things, please contact the Graduation Coordinators Cindy Chhit or Naheed Sanusi.
