Welcome
To all our students, families and staff returning to Palm Beach SS this year, welcome back finally! We hope you each enjoyed a bit of well-earned time off with your families, and that you’re off to a delayed yet great start to 2022.

Teachers Supplies
To show a little appreciation to our AMAZING teachers, the P&C were again fortunate enough to be able to offer them $100 to spend for classroom supplies and learning aids. The teachers were extremely happy to receive their goodies to help them start the year.
P&C Meeting
Our first general meeting of 2022 will be held tomorrow Thursday 17 February at 5:00pm in the staff room. Due to social distancing requirements in our meeting room, we ask all who wish to attend to please register your attendance to all our meetings by return email to pandcsecretarypbss@gmail.com so we can ensure compliance with the social distancing requirements.
Through the operation of our uniform shop and through various fundraising events throughout the year our P&C raises valuable funding to help enrich the journey of learning at Palm Beach SS. To pitch in and share ideas, or to join in on the conversation to determine how these funds are spent at your child’s school, please join us at one of our P&C meetings which are held week 4 and 8 of each term, alternatively you can contact us anytime at pandc@palmbeachss.eq.edu.au.
Our Annual General Meeting will be held next month Thursday 17 March 2022 which means it is time for us as a school community to think about the coming year and what we would like to see achieved through our P&C Association throughout 2022.
It is also the time where the existing executive committee hand over the reins to others. All general memberships and executive positions (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary) lapse at the AGM every year.
We are fortunate at Palm Beach State School to have a P&C Association and school administrators who take a consultative and cooperative approach. If you would be interested in learning more about the executive positions and what is involved, please contact us at pandc@palmbeachss.eq.edu.au
As a parent of a student at our school, you are not automatically a member of the P&C. To become a member you must first attend a general meeting and present your membership application form in person, which is approved at the end of that meeting.
This means that should an issue arise during the school year which you feel strongly about, and you are not yet a member, you will not be able to vote on the matter until you have attended a general meeting first… i.e. you will qualify to vote at your second meeting (the Annual General Meeting is the only meeting where a person may apply to become a member without being present).
To become a part of the process and ensure you can have your say, please either join us at our next meeting, attend our AGM (or submit a membership application beforehand). Membership forms are available from the uniform shop or by emailing pandc@palmbeachss.eq.edu.au.
Entertainment Book
We are excited to again be fundraising with Entertainment this year and your support really helps. With over 400 new offers added recently there are thousands of offers, experiences and savings for everyone!
Entertainment have a “BUNDLE of LOVE” for our supporters when you purchase an Entertainment Membership between 6pm AEST 7th February to 28th February, you will receive access to BONUS limited-time offers from some fantastic businesses.
