DP Newsletter Week 4

We would like to welcome you all back to the 2022 school year! We look forward to working with you again to support you and your children with their schooling.

Student Absences

If your child will be absent from school for any reason, please contact the office and let them know via the absence line 5520 8360 OR the front office 5520 8333. This will ensure that your child’s absence is explained and you will not receive a text message informing you of an unexplained absence on the day/s they are away.

You may also wish to inform your child’s class teacher of their absence via class dojo, however the teachers may not inform the office before our same day notification text messages are sent out.

Thank you for your support and understanding with this process 😊

Before and After School Rules

Below is an outline of the before and after school rules/processes that we follow at PBSS to ensure our students remain safe on arrival and departure each day:

  • Playground equipment is out of bounds before and after school (this includes students and their siblings even if a parent is supervising them)
  • Students sit in their designated waiting areas if they arrive before the 8:30am bell (aim to arrive between 8:20am – 8:30am)
  • There are no games to be played before or after school (this includes handball, tiggy etc.)
  • After the 2:45pm bell, students move directly to their family agreed upon pick up area
  • Students in Kiss and Go sit in the undercover area opposite the uniform shop and wait for their car and name to be called via the speaker

Following these basic rules enables the school to safely manage over 770 students on a daily basis. We thank you for your ongoing support with this in creating a safe and supportive PBSS culture 😊

Friday Beach Sport Year 4 – 6 Students

Our Yr. 4 – 6 Friday Beach Sport program begins this Friday the 18th of February and will run every Friday for the remainder of the term. Students were given a parent permission form last week that needs to be returned to their class teacher before Friday to ensure they are able to participate. Students engage in a variety of rotational sports in Term 1 on the beach before beginning interschool sport in Term 2. Further information regarding interschool sport for Term 2 will be communicated with students and families later this term.
