AGE IS NO BARRIER

Some members of the Senior Student leadership Team [Rose Abela, Francesca Papandrea, Ruby Hoare, Bethany Prior] attended the State Youth Leadership Conference, representing the Academy Student Leadership Team. The event was run by the Youth Leadership Academy Australia [YLAA] and we attended along with over 1000 other students from around the state. The conference was part of the YLAA’s national tour and was a fascinating and rewarding experience. 

The founder and CEO of YLAA is 19 year old Wil Massara, who delivered an inspiring speech about how "your age does not determine your ability to achieve extraordinary things".  We heard from several other young, talented and accomplished speakers, who offered us advice about how to create change as young people and how to engage the community that we are seeking to lead. Overall, the experience was rewarding and provided great insight into how age is no barrier and that as "united individuals" we can create change.
