PFA  News

How to get involved with the PFA in 2022!

We had a great first meeting for the year last night, and really enjoyed welcoming lots of new faces to the room.  Membership is free and open to any school parent or supporter.  Please complete the 2022 PFA membership registration form on Qkr to receive meeting notices and minutes.  Our next meeting will also include the AGM, on Wednesday, 2nd March, at 7:30pm.

We have a stack of exciting initiatives on the cards for 2022 - some of which you can read about below.  We need lots of hands on deck to make them a success - and volunteering to help out is a great way to bring fun events to life for the students, connect with other parents, and to get a glimpse into primary school life!

You can see some of our Term 1 volunteering opportunities, and sign up for those that suit you, here - https://signup.com/go/gFZFQQw (it's super easy, and you will not need to register an account or keep a password on signup.com).

We are also still looking for some PFA Class Reps, in the following classes: 1B, 1C, 2A, 2C, 2D, 3A, 3D, 4B, 5A, 5B, 5C.  The PFA Class Reps are instrumental to helping achieve one of the PFA’s key aims - to provide a strong connection across the school and individual grades. The role is really what you make of it and generally representatives don’t find it is time consuming (say around 10 mins per week, less in the older years). If you are interested in being a representative, please send an email to pfa@carnegieps.vic.edu.au with your contact details and the class you would like to represent.

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!

2022 Twilight Fiesta - April 2nd, 3-7pm

The PFA is excited to confirm plans for a twilight ‘fiesta’ on April 2nd 2022. The focus will be on food, fun and community engagement.

Rides and activities will keep the kids entertained, local businesses and the PFA will have fabulous food and drinks available, and we are looking at hosting a selection of community market stalls.

Can you help?  We are looking for help over the next couple of months with organisation of areas such as:

  • Rides and ride ticketing
  • Food and drink stalls / vendors
  • Kids’ activities, such as face painting, pet show etc
  • Advertising and marketing, including graphic design
  • Community market stalls
  • Eco and sustainability aspects across the event

Please let us know via https://signup.com/go/xdhFAon or pfa@carnegieps.vic.edu.au  if you can help, and/or if you have any other ideas for the event.
