Volunteer Workshops

Volunteers are an important part of school life and with the easing of restrictions we welcome parents, carers and extended family members to join our school community at every opportunity.

During this term, there will be many events that require volunteers ranging from our School Athletics Day, Father's Day Stall as well as classroom activities. As you are aware, Child Safety is always at the forefront of our minds at St Therese's and as such, we conduct Volunteer Induction Workshops to ensure everyone is aware of their role in maintaining this.

Over the next fortnight, Volunteer Induction Workshops are being offered once again for those who are yet to recently complete this. The workshop needs to be completed every two years therefore if you have already completed a workshop in 2021 you are not required to complete another one until 2023. If you are unsure as to whether or not you need to complete it again, please email me directly and I can check the database register.

For those wanting to attend a Volunteer Induction Workshop, they will be held on the following days and times:

  • Thursday 14th July 9:00a.m & 2:30p.m
  • Monday 18th July 9:00a.m & 2:30p.m
  • Thursday 21st July 9:00a.m & 2:30p.m

Please come to reception and sign in upon arrival. A reminder that all volunteers require a current Working With Children Check Card .

Child Safety

Child safety is an ongoing priority at our school. As such, we are constantly reviewing and updating our procedures based upon DOSCEL policies and government legislation.

Aligning with this is Child Safety Week which is in September. In preparation for this event, schools in the Sale Diocese are promoting and participating in the annual Child Safety Week Competition whereby students learn about the importance of child safety and how they can make a difference.

Students are encouraged to design posters and develop videos that promote the Child Safe Standard 3 Child and Student Empowerment. The top entries will be used to produce resources for schools and parishes to promote child safety and Child Safety Week.

The theme for this year's Child Safety Week is:

Every child, in every community, needs a fair go and a chance to grow up safe and supported. What makes you feel safe and supported in your community, school or at home?

Please take the time to continue this work at home by discussing the importance of child safety with your children.
