As we all return after a lovely long weekend, we now look forward to an extremely busy next few weeks. 

Rowing Calendar

• June 11 – IGSSA #4 Champion Lakes
• June 18  - All Schools #2 Champion Lakes
• June 25 – IGSSA #5 Head of the River. Champion Lakes

Calling all rowers to make themselves available to come on down to Champion Lakes on June 25 to support the College and female rowers. The College bus will leave at 6:05am and all students are welcome to travel by bus to the Regatta.

Our Parents have been working very hard to create one of our greatest Regatta experiences on this day. As our largest fundraising event, it would be terrific to have all rowers there.

Year 8 Learn to Row Program – Term 3

Thank you to the enthusiastic Year 8 rowers who have shown interest in our Term 3 Program. Communication will be coming out to you all with regards to the next step of enrolling.

The first session will commence on Monday, 25 July and run every Monday and Wednesday for Term 3.

Rowers will have one water session and one land session each week. Please note below the times for each session. Times differ due to the travel time for water sessions.

• Water Sessions
  Canning Bridge 3:10pm (leave College by bus) and return to College by 6:00pm by bus
• Land Sessions
  3:30pm – 4:30pm (Held at school)

All information will be sent out to families this week. This program finishes with a House Regatta on Saturday, 17 September at Canning Bridge

Help needed - Head of the River

We are on the final stretch towards the Head of the River on Saturday 25 June. We need your help!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are planning on selling 1000 bacon and egg rolls! We need your help to cook, prep and serve on the day. All John XXIII Rowing families are asked to volunteer to run the bbq, café and cake stall on Saturday 25 June at Champion Lakes. Many hands make light work and we greatly appreciate all parents, students (great opportunity for Roncalli Service) and extended families helping us out with the hosting of this HUGE event!

TIME TO START BAKING

Calling all our keen bakers! We are aiming to sell 200 cakes and slices on the day. You can sign up now for what you (or your children/grandparents) are planning to bake.  You can collect a box for your goodies on Monday 20 or Wednesday 22 June from the Thomas More Centre between 8-9am or 3-3:30pm. Delivery will be on Friday 24 June from 8-9am or 3-3.30pm in the GBLT. Rowing families can also deliver directly to the Regatta on Saturday morning before 9am.

Head of the River merchandise

Head of the River Merchandise will be available to order from this weekend, so to get in the first wave of orders, come on down to our tent and get your orders in.
