Round 9 PSA Wrap-Up

v  Guildford Grammar

Round 9 of the winter season saw Trinity compete against Guildford in the final fixture for Term 2. With Guildford having a lot less teams than Trinity, it was a difficult set of fixtures over the weekend, but thank you to all the staff and coaches for being organised and ensuring students knew where to go and who they were playing.

Thank you to the Year 10 soccer teachers and coaches for organizing an internal scratch match on Saturday. It was great to see all the Year 10s in attendance. Well done to the 1st Soccer team who were involved in a very tense match. After being on the receiving end of some close draws and loses the last few weeks, a late penalty meant that we came away with a 2-1 win. Well done also the 7A football team who beat Aquinas by 2 goals after losing by 8 goals the first time they met.

Training will recommence in the Week 1 of Term 3 with our next fixture being a home round against Wesley College on the 22nd and 23rd of July.

Strength and Conditioning Centre

The TC Strengthening and Conditioning Centre will continue to remain open during the school holidays for students to train in. It will be open from 8-10am each weekday. There is no need to book, simply come along on the day. Students attending who have not trained in the S&C centre before, please introduce yourself to one of our instructors when you arrive.

Don't forget your towel and water bottle!

Do you have any pre-game rituals? If so, what are they?

Not really, I just try to have a good meal and a good sleep the night before the game and aim to get to the ground nice and early, making sure that the last song I listen to before getting out of the car is a good one.

Who has had the most influence on you?

My two older sisters, mum, dad and my mum's dad my Dida

What advice would you give to younger students who aim to play 1st team?

Don't feel as though you have to change who you are to make it in a certain team, if you show your drive and passion in training and in games, people will respect you and value you in the team regardless of your interests. Also, attend the optional sessions as this will show that you really want the position, and the coaches will take notice of this.

What is your favourite Trinity memory?

Winning our first 1st XVIII game since 2020 against Guildford at Waterford in Round 2 this year, and spending a week in Wyndham on the Kimberley Immersion last year.
