Junior School

Semester Wrap-Up

This semester we have been fortunate to move away from lockdowns and restrictions and have finished up being being able to enjoy the many opportunities provided in sport, music and a range of other co-curricular activities. I would like to encourage everyone to enjoy a well-earned break these holidays. Rest up and make time to be in the company of friends and family.

We wish Mr Tony Maxfield a very restful and enjoyable break while he takes some well-deserved long service leave. We also farewell Mr Matthew Riley, although we will still see him around as he will be in Senior School in Semester 2.

In Term 3 we will welcome back Mr Bernard Le Tessier who will be resuming his role as Assistant Head of Junior School and taking responsibility for Year 6 Green on Monday's, Tuesday's, and Thursday's.

Mr Thompson will be taking 6 Green on Wednesday's and Friday's.

Mr Tony Maxfield will be taking some well-deserved long service leave for Term 3. The replacement teacher for Year 5 Green will be announced during the school holidays when staffing has been finalised.

Mrs Sara Pounder will be working as a full-time Education Assistant in the Junior School for Term 3.

I would like to thank our student teacher, Mr Morgan Klugg for his time in Junior School this semester. Next semester we will be welcoming some more pre-service teachers who will be completing practicums in various classrooms.

Sport

Thanks Mr Thompson for organising a great Soccer Carnival against Aquinas for the Year 4 students. Boys enjoyed the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and to meet boys from Aquinas. Well done also to the Year 5 and 6 boys on a great sporting fixture against Guildford on Thursday.

Assembly

Today we finished the term with a Golden Honour and TOBA Assembly.  Congratulations to all our award winners.

Mass

We celebrated the end of Term 2  with Mass hosted by Year 5 White. Thank you 5 White for leading us in a beautiful Mass.

Semester 1 Reports

The Semester 1 reports, which were available through SEQTA on Wednesday have hopefully given you a good indication as to how your son has progressed this semester. After reading your son's report, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to clarify these with your son’s teacher by requesting a meeting upon your return to school in Term 3. Please also complete the Parent Response Sheet and return it to your son’s class teacher during the first week of next term.

Term 3

Junior School commences classes on Tuesday, 19 July. Sport will continue with training on Wednesday morning followed by our fixture against Wesley on Thursday.

Year 4 Strings Concert

The Year 4s had their first Strings concert this week. All the boys were able to perform with their teachers on either Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. It was quite the exciting event, with the boys playing for the parents in the Music department!

Eyes on TC

On this week's episode of Eyes on TC, the boys discuss what they will get up to in the school holidays, upcoming birthdays, new must-see movies, and they even sing a special song dedicated to Mr Riley. Listen below!

Prefects Corner

By Max Scarparolo and Nate Cass

This week is the last week of the Semester. Everybody is excited to go on holiday for two weeks. On Thursday the Year 4s did their Soccer carnival for the first time. They were against Aquinas. I’m sure they learnt some more skills and learnt to be a great player. In Physical Education, we are almost done with all our trials for the Sport Carnival next term!

This week the Year 5s and 6s versed Guilford in their PSA sport. Friday is a pretty special week since we have Golden Honour and the TOBA award. All students are very excited for the awards, I’m sure you parents would be as well. This week we are welcoming Mr Le Tessier back to his position as now he is feeling better after some time off.

We are also saying farewell to all the prac teachers that have helped this term. We will miss them, but they have to go. Ms Stalley has been out this week because of sickness, so we have had a substitute teacher in so we can still learn Science. This week was a great week for everybody, all the students enjoyed the week. But now its time for a break.
