Brunswick Secondary College’s curriculum is focused on providing successful pathways for all students so that, whether in the classroom or beyond, we are focused on the unique talents and potential of the individual.
Celebrating student achievement is not limited academic accomplishments and we are pleased to recognise the recent success of two talented and dedicated athletes in our community.
Reyna Herbertson (Year 11) recently achieved great success at the Taekwondo Junior World Selections in Sydney.
Reyna was joined by athletes from 32 clubs around the country, all competing to represent Australia at the Taekwondo Cadet & Junior World Championships which will be staged in Sophia, Bulgaria in August.
Reyna won her grand final fight in her section, earning her inclusion in the Australian team! Now focusing on the coming challenge, she is being fitted for her ‘green and gold’ uniform and is excited to join her Australian teammates as they head into international competition.
Meanwhile, at the same competition, Mila Clark (Year 8) also earned a place on the Australian team and will also jet off to the Cadet and Junior Taekwondo World Championships at the end of next month too! Mila is understandably pretty pumped (as so she should be) and she is now on the fundraising trail. If you would like to contribute to her fund, click HERE. All donations are tax deductible.
The BSC community heartily congratulates both Mila and Reyna on their success. Achieving Australian selection is not only an honour, but also well deserved given the years of training and commitment that they have both invested in their chosen sport. We wish them well as they prepare for the Cadet & Junior World Championships - and come August, we will be watching and cheering them on!
