Rugby Supporters Club Committee Fundraising Events
The St Pius X Rugby Supporters Club raise funds that go directly back into the Rugby program. In previous years, the Supporters Club provided significant funds for external coaching, rugby specific physio, tour contributions, tour clothing and kit. etc.
In recent years due to COVID-19, fundraising was put on hold, meaning the club is desperate to re-coup funds to contribute again during the 2022 season.
It was agreed that the three fundraising focuses this season would be a Monster Raffle, the Rugby Club Dinner (on Saturday 30 July) and the Golf day, held later in the year.
The success of these events relies on the support of everyone in the Rugby Community. Please support the events above through your attendance and through selling raffle tickets when they become available.
Another way you could help is by reaching out to your known contacts to donate prizes for the raffle and Rugby dinner. In the past, prizes have included accommodation in venues like Noosa and the Hunter Valley, services like photography sessions provided, not to mention memorabilia, tickets to events, toys or sporting gear for children, money can’t buy experiences with celebrities or adrenaline-based activities to name a few. The Rugby Supporters' Committee is asking the community to come together and consider how they, or someone they know could donate to these events.
Please contact myself mgillogly@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au or Rugby Club President Paul O’Neill: paoneill21@gmail.com if you can contribute in any way.

Strength and Conditioning
Strength and Conditioning Testing is happening this week. This is a great way to find out where you are. It will give you direct feedback on how you are tracking with your training, and it also gives us a really good indication of how we are doing as program. Below is a breakdown of the tests and how they should be conducted.
The testing will occur over the week and it’s important to understand that these sessions are not workouts, they are all-out efforts. This is the part where you find out where you really are compared to where you think you are. Do these tests in the order they are displayed in the link below and you should have a decent day out! To record your scores you must add your data into the google spreadsheet the coaches will provide during your session each day.
Take your time with the testing, don’t rush it like a session or a normal workout, sit down a day before and plan it out, think about how you want to attack it… give yourself the best chance to perform at your best! A reminder that Years 7 and 8 will not participate in the barbell lifting, however students will have the opportunity to participate in Level 1 and 2 fitness challenges and all remainder fitness testing.
