2022 Careers and Pathways Programs

Work Experience and Structured Workplace Learning

Last semester, the majority of Year 10 students and senior applied students undertook some kind of work placement. We are extremely appreciative of the workplaces, host employers and supervisors and would like to extend our thanks to all who supported this program.

Course Information Evening Wednesday 27th July 4pm – 7.30pm

The purpose of this compulsory evening for current Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 students is to provide information and resources to assist with course and subject decision-making.

There are presentations throughout the evening covering the online Course Guide and on-line Web preferences subject selection process, Core/Elective programs available to Year 9 and 10 students, VCE Programs including VCE, VCE-VET and VCE Vocational Major. 

All Learning Areas are open from 4.00pm - 7.30pm in nominated locations. There are displays and the opportunity to gather information. Learning area staff will be able to offer advice on prescribed studies, elective subjects and discuss choices.

The Louise Humann Centre (Library) is open from 4.00pm - 7.30pm and is the place to go to obtain information about our Library Services and Programs, Careers and Pathways Advice, Course advice, Vocational Preparation/VCE Vocational Major/VET advice.

Web preferences (our Online Course and Subject Selection program) will open at 3.30pm on Thursday, 28 July 2022 and are due by 9.00am on Monday, 8 August 2022.

 

Other key aspects worth noting:

  • Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 have been provided with course information preparation sessions and should aim to use suggested resources and the traffic light strategy to help research their preferred program and subjects.
  • The 2023 MSCW Course Guide will be available from the start of Term 3.
  • Application Forms for Acceleration, Year 10 Vocational Preparation and Year 11 and 12 VCE with VM will be accessible via the 2023 MSCW Course Guide (start of Term 3) and are due by Friday, 15 July 2022 (end of the first week).
  • Year 9 Trade Pathways Program will also have an application form which will be due at a later date.

  • Year 9 Careers Day 26 July
  • Year 9 Morrisby Interviews continue.
  • Individual student appointments continue – students can make these via the link on Simon using their school email and password.
