Dear Families,
It is an enormous privilege to address you all as your permanent College Principal, having now been appointed to the substantive role. I have a long-term commitment to the continued growth of our wonderful school.
Many years in education in a wide range of sectors tells me that our school has all the ingredients to provide the very best in education opportunities for our students. The work we do in ensuring positive outcomes for our young people - in a close collaborative setting - is what makes us the school of choice for many families.
I am so proud to be working with a community that cares so deeply about the wellbeing and educational opportunities of its young people, going the ‘extra mile’ to create a nurturing environment that really allows our students to create their positive future.
A glimpse at what has occurred at the college in the last week alone makes all of the above obvious: rich real-world experiences in entrepreneurship, engagement in high level discoveries in sports research, the magic of ‘The School of Rock’ that propels student into industry level music performance, just to name a few areas - For example, see the photo above where I am sporting an incredible pair of cyber spectacles designed and manufactured by a talented group during our Australian Business Week held here at the College.
All this is of course in addition to the many rich classroom experiences provided daily by our staff. Please take time to look through this newsletter (remembering that you may download in any language).
Again, I want to say how I admire our students and staff so much and thank our families for the careful consideration given to all aspects of our students’ wellbeing and achievements in education.
I wish our community a safe, restful, and fulfilling break, and I very much look forward to continuing our journey upon our return for term three.
Remember that I am always available for a conversation with families if I can assist in any way.
Warm regards,
Timothy Cottrell
