Thornbury Primary School Mental Health and Wellbeing Update

Welcoming Rachael James

This term Rachael James is returning to the wellbeing team. Rachael will be working 1:1 with students on Wednesdays at TPS under the Mental Health in Primary Schools program and will be overseen by Anna Baker the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader.

Rachael James is a compassionate counselling student currently undertaking her placement at Thornbury Primary School. With a degree in Philosophy and a background in film production, she holds a special interest in social justice-oriented practices. Rachael is pursuing a Diploma of Counselling at ACCSC, a registered training organisation that offers nationally recognised qualifications in Individual Support, Ageing Support, and Disability. Her experience in childcare organisations and disability support has solidified her passion for working one-on-one with neurodiverse individuals. She strongly believes in early-interventional support and aims to help children and young adults. Rachael's warm and understanding personality, coupled with her adaptability, makes her approachable and down-to-earth. Her ultimate goal is to create a safe space where everyone feels respected and valued, providing the support and kindness they deserve.
