Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Trust you have had a good week. Last Friday our seniors had three great games of sport against Kananook PS here with wins in the footy and netball and a loss in the T-Ball. The students, win or lose, all seemed to have a great time representing our school with many grandparents staying on to watch. Thanks to the parents who are assisting these teams, either through coaching or cheering them along and to Miss Marks' son, Christian, who umpired the football. Tomorrow, our teams walk to Belvedere PS for their weekly sport and I wish them all the best for this!

Last Friday was of course our Grandparents Day and when we celebrated the Feast of St Anne and St Joachim. Thanks to all of our grandparents and special people who were able to attend, to Mrs Winduss for a beautiful mass, class teachers for organising some fun activities and to our P and F members who did such a great job with the catering in the hall. A real highlight of our calendar every year!

Eucharistic Masses commenced last weekend and will continue over the next few weekends. Congratulations to Jacob G, Harry S, James H and Paige W who have now received their First Eucharist. Please keep Sebastian M, Macey W and Amelia C in your prayers as they prepare for their First Eucharist. On Wednesday night a number of our students received their First Reconciliation and second Sacrament. Congratulations to Oliver H, Oscar L, Jasper H, Lilith T, Kevin C, Chantelle B, Logan P, Edward K, Lawson C, Luke B, Grace F, Sebastian M and Lola T, Ziggy P.

Congratulations to our Foundation students who celebrate 100 Days of School tomorrow with their teachers. Well done to you all. It is hard to believe the growth and change in these students since they visited on the orientation days from their kinders and childcare centres in Term 4, 2022!

Miss O'Donnell has now finished her educational trip to Rome and Assisi and has flown with the other Melbourne Archdiocesan participants to Lisbon in Portugal to commence the build up to World Youth Day. What a life changing experience we hope this will be for her. She will have learnt so much to share with the students and the staff.

Looking ahead, next Tuesday is St Mary of the Cross' Feast Day. Parents and families are welcome to join the students in the Hall as we celebrate a liturgy for her at 3pm.  Next Friday our students will take the bus to Mahogany Rise PS to play sport against them. The weekend masses of the 12th and 13th of August will be times when our students intending to be Confirmed in the faith are able to continue their enrolment for this.

God Bless
