Message From Our Principal

Mrs Jackie Stockdale

We have two very exciting and busy weeks ahead of us, filled with wonderful learning opportunities for our students. As you may already be aware, Jackie Stockdale will be on long service leave until Friday the 11th of August. During her absence, Stephanie Hayes (Monday & Tuesday) and Katie Rasmussen (Wednesday, Thursday & Friday) will step in as Acting Principal. Please feel free to reach out to either Stephanie or Katie if required.

I would like to extend my congratulations to Deklen Key and Lucas Pyke for their exceptional performance at the Lion's Club Public Speaking Competition. Well done to Lucas for progressing to the next stage which is held this Sunday in Lockington. We are proud of our students' accomplishments and commend their efforts in representing our school. Good luck Lucas!

We recently had the opportunity to hold Learning Conversations, where parents and students met with teachers to discuss student progress and goals. These conversations are crucial for ensuring that we are all aligned in our efforts to support our students' learning journey and keep the lines of communication open. Learning goals will be available to view on SIMON Everywhere shortly.

A big thank you goes out to all the families who participated in the wood raffle ticket sales. The winner will be drawn on Friday afternoon during the Grade 3/4 Prayer session. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Our Foundation students had a delightful celebration, marking their 100th day of school. Thank you to Miss Bennett for organising a wonderful day for her class. It is remarkable to witness the growth and learning that has taken place in these young minds over the last 100 days.

Looking ahead, we are excited that our Grade 3-6 students will participate in the Waranga Athletic Sports in Kyabram next Thursday for the first time ever. This presents an exciting opportunity for our students to showcase their talents, sportsmanship, and team spirit. It will also be a wonderful chance for them to build new friendships and reconnect with peers in their community. We send a big thank you to the parents who have volunteered to support us on the day.

During Week 6, we will come together to celebrate Science Week with a day of multiage activities. This will be a fantastic reinforcement of the Science skills students learned in our Inquiry unit last term.  Experiences such as these fosters a love for science and inquiry in our students.

On the 16th of August, we will take great pride in commissioning new FIRE Carriers for our school. The FIRE Carrier Project aims to promote respect, fairness, and inclusion for Aboriginal people, as well as reconciliation and enculturation in Sandhurst schools. This initiative aligns perfectly with our values of respect, kindness and learning.

As part of our term's Inquiry around performance, we have two exciting experiences planned for Thursday, 17th August. Our students will have the unique opportunity to attend Alpha's performance of 'Beauty & the Beast' at Tongala Primary School as well as St Augustine's 'Aladdin' later in the day. These live performances will undoubtedly be a great source of inspiration as we gear up for our own school production, 'Story Time Showdown.'

It has been great to see Little Paddy's Playcation so heavily supported by the Tongala Community. Make sure you tell your friends and family to come along!

I wish you all a wonderful weekend, I am filled with excitement as we prepare for another busy two weeks of learning and experiences at St Patrick's.

Best wishes,

Katie Rasmussen

Acting Principal
