A Prayer for Mary McKillop 

Dear God,

Thank you for the life of St Mary of the Cross McKillop.

She showed us that in the struggles and hard times of her life you were there loving and helping her.

Please be with us when times are hard or when I am afraid. Please help me to love you just as she loved you.

Amen. 

Congratulations to our Year 4 students who received their Sacrament of Eucharist. We are so proud of you.

School Closure Day

On Wednesday 9th August we have a School Closure Day. The focus of this closure day for our staff will be on Scripture . Our staff will also be participating in a guided tour of St Patrick's Cathedral. We can't wait to share our learning from this day with you all.

PARISH NEWS

Parish fortnightly:  This coming weekend we will be resuming communion under both kinds at our masses (the host and the wine).  We will have 2 special eucharistic ministers either side of Father with the chalice of wine.  After receiving “The Body of Christ”, if desired move to the minister with the chalice to drink a little from it and return the chalice to the minister.  It is NOT permitted to self-intinct (or dip) the host in the chalice.  After sipping from the chalice return reverently to your seat.  There will also be a “Mass of Anointing” on Wednesday 9th August at 11 am in the Church followed by a light lunch.  This is a pupil free day so there will be ample parking onsite.  Please note that 9.15 am mass that morning will not be celebrated.

Mass for the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be celebrated in the Chapel on Tuesday 15th August at 7.00 pm.  All are most welcome.

Also a reminder that ALPHA will be commencing this Sunday 6th August at 7 pm in the Parish House.  This will be a wine and cheese supper with discussion about “Is there more to life than this?”  Registrations via https://www.holyspiriparish.org.au/alpha.  All welcome.

We hope that you all enjoy and have fun at the school disco on Tuesday 8th August in the Community Centre.

Holy Spirit is a child safe Parish.  We hold the care, safety and well being of children and young people as a central and fundamental responsibility of our Parish.

The March 2023 Spirit Magazine is now being prepared. We would love any contributions you would like to share: photos from a community activity, back to school or first day stories or photos, achievements of our students and Alumni, articles you think worth sharing or a favourite digital resource.
