Fete Committee Update

Crunch time is here and we are finalising planning for Fete Day Saturday 7 October

 

We met on Tuesday 17 July and are pleased to announce that we are almost at our sponsorship target of $25,000.00! Well done to Belle & Paul for their efforts!

 

There are more rides this year for big & little kids, a bigger family zone on the oval as well as more food stalls. HUGE BONUS Animal Farm entry will now be included with wristband purchases!

 

Adam has worked hard on the layout and it looks amazing! We are excited to share it with you in the next few weeks. Great job Adam!

 

Paul has arranged a new oven to be donated and installed in the kitchen. This improve & benefit all events in the church. Thank you Paul!

 

Kerry & Katherine have been working frantically to arrange permits and council approvals, food & supplies, upload raffle tickets to TryBooking and arrange volunteer sign ups. Well done ladies you both have had a lot to do.

 

Rob has been updating the website and managing our tech – not an easy job. We can’t wait to share the new site once it has been finished!

Sponsorship Opportunities for HS Families

 

We have a special extended offer for our Holy Spirit families.  We will be offering our social media packages for $350.00 until the end of August (Public sponsorship closed 30 June). If you have a family business and interested in sponsorship we would love to support you!

 

Advertising runs through to February the following year. Included is a wristband valued at $60.00 as well as $20.00 worth of hospitality vouchers. Our social media package is awesome value!

Community Grant & Awards

Fete Sponsor & Deakin Federal member Michael Sukkar MP attended our recent meeting to recognise & present 2 awards.

Adam Stone, Fete President recently applied for the Stronger Communities Grant to upgrade our marquees. He was successful in securing a grant which will improve the Fete and conditions for our volunteers. Congratulations Adam!

Belle Godfrey, Sponsorship Manager was also awarded a 2023 Deakin Community Award. As Belle couldn't make it on the night, Michael was able to congratulate her in person. Well deserved Belle!

 

Stall Leaders / Co-Ordinators

 

For years we have been blessed to have the same volunteers take charge of our stalls.  With many Parish Members stepping down and families who have left the school we are looking for 10 Stall Leaders for Fete Day.

 

Leaders are NOT required to work on stall all day but to help organise the volunteers. The stalls include: Trash & Treasure, Books, Silent Auction, Pre Loved Clothing, Coffee Bar, Face Painting and the new Milk Bar / Lolly Shop!

Lob A Choc Free Dress Day Friday 18 August 

 

Another one of the most Popular Fete Stalls, Lob a Choc will be running a Free Dress Day in exchange for a block, bag or boxed chocolate.  Make sure to keep an eye out for specials at the supermarket the coming weeks and save some chocolate so you can come in Free Dress.  This is of course optional and remember no nuts please!

Fete Committee

The Fete Committee is made up of current and past school parents and members of the wider Holy Spirit Parish community. With many key members stepping down and retiring we are on the search for new members.  This is a great year to dip your toe in and see what it is all about without the pressure of a specific role and to have fun!
