Speak with Power

In 5/6 BOC we have been extremely fortunate to engage with the 'Speak with Power' workshops facilitated by Ron Thomas.

The students were thrown into the deep end from the get go and they had to speak for one minute on a random topic chosen by Ron. Our students were brave and rose to the challenge without question, and what was truly beautiful was how they supported and encouraged each other. 

In our following sessions the students have been learning about skills in movement, projection and how to catch the audience and maintain their attention. This week the students each got up and spoke for two minutes about themselves. Next week the bar is being raised to three minute speeches about a topic of their choosing. We are having so much fun and the students are leaning into this wonderful opportunity to develop their confidence.
