Dear Families,

Thank you all once again for another great week at Trinity. I am hoping all our parents had a chance last week to look over the Term Learning Overviews, which I have included again below. Whilst I know, as a parent, it can be hard to get a great deal of information out of our children, especially just after a long day at school, it is great to find the right moment to ask specific questions about what they are learning throughout the week. This type of conversation really does help children recall information which can further strengthen their learning. 

Communication Talking Circle

On Monday our Parent Talking Circle was really well attended so thanks to all those parents able to attend and for the great input and feedback around the important topic of school communication. I have included below, some of the main talking points which I am confident will help us find the best solutions and processes to ensure there is always clear and timely communication from school to home and from home to school.

Purpose of our Talking Circle:

• To seek feedback from parents about their child’s learning through parent/teacher meetings, student led conversations and through Seesaw
• To survey families to seek input in regards to communication and school policies 
• To invite families to contribute to a working group around communication and school policies 
• To involve our School Advisory Council in decision making 

Priorities and expectations from parents

• What should clear communication look like from a parent's perspective?
• What has been working well and what has not?

Priorities and expectations from school

• To keep our community informed. 
• Does everyone know this information? And how do we know that?
• To streamline communication from parents back to us.

One of the actions which we will follow up after listening to the views of parents will be to explore some of the communication platforms being used successfully by other schools.
