Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL)

Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL)

At SFS, our school expectations are:

Respect

Responsibility and

Kindness

This week we have focused on showing kindness and  ‘play fairly and be a good sport’ in Outdoor spaces.

Next Monday we are having a parent and student focus group lead by Jack Mather from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS). We are asking for parents to give us feedback about PBL, what you understand about it, what you think is going well and any suggestions or ideas you had to share. The children love receiving their PBL cards and having some free time or coming in casual clothes if their name is drawn in the weekly raffle.

Twilight Community Market

Make sure you have the date marked in your calendar, Thursday 9th November. The market runs from 5 pm to 8 pm. We have a variety of stalls and food trucks booked for the event. We are so excited and the count down has begun. 15 weeks to go!!!!

National day for Action against bullying

Friday 18th August is National day of Action against bullying. This year’s theme is “growing connections to help prevent bullying”. Together we can make a change. Everyone has a role to play for bullying prevention. The NDA promotes the importance of school, parent and community connections to build safe and supportive learning environments. Safety Action Team

A new action team of students have started meeting on a Monday afternoon. 6 students were chosen, a junior and senior from each learning space. The teachers spoke to the children to see if they were happy to take on this role. The children are going to come up with ways to promote the messages at school “I know who to talk to at my school if I have a problem that I need help with” and “I trust my school will help me if something upsetting happened to me, my friends or my family”

Congratulations to the children who were selected:

LS 1 Chloe M and Denise

LS 2 Eleeya and Sara and

LS 3, Jarryd and Isabella S

Lego Club

The children have been enjoying lego club. This week’s lego challenge was to work in a small group to build a playground. Lego club happens at lunch time on Wednesdays. Here are their creations.
