MATHEMATICS IN LS2 JUNIORS

At the start of every lesson, we dive into the captivating realm of mental math strategies, and our secret weapon? The thrilling game of "buzz"! But hold on tight because this buzz is unlike any other you've experienced before! Picture the scene: we gather in a circle, hearts pounding with excitement, as we begin our mathematical quest. But here's the twist, we're not starting from the usual 1 or 10; oh no, we're kicking things up a notch! We're counting by 10s, but we're starting off with a whopping 100, making each step more adventurous and every calculation even more thrilling! As we progress through the counting sequence, the atmosphere intensifies, and our brains spark with enthusiasm! The goal? Reaching the mythical land of 200, where the ultimate buzz victory awaits!
Just when everyone thought they'd conquered it all, our daring LS2 Juniors dared to dream bigger! They stood in a circle and said, "Rosie, let's make it even more challenging!" Challenge accepted! Brace yourselves for the reverse buzz - starting at 200 and counting backward by 10s. Whoosh! Minds blown! But that's how we like it, pushing boundaries, and having a blast while doing it! Now, we're not just counting; we're on a thrilling adventure, exploring the fascinating world of numbers! Think of it as a treasure hunt for mathematical knowledge!
Each correct calculation is like discovering a shiny gem, getting us closer to the ultimate prize - a solid foundation in mental math! But the excitement didn't stop with the thrilling game of buzz! The LS2 Juniors were hungry for more mathematical adventures. They fearlessly embarked on the journey of adding 2-digit numbers by 2-digit numbers, and boy, was it a mind-bending expedition!

3/4 Winter Interschool Sport
Today we continued with our rotations, the Grade 3/4's enjoyed their Interschool Sport Rotations and learned the rules of a different sport as they progressed through.
5/6 Winter Interschool Sport
Our Coaches/Teacher's are assisting with the tactical aspect of their sport with our grade 5/6's. Next week it will be a home game against Rivergum Primary School. we would like to see as many parents as possible to watch and encourage our senior students.
OPEROO REMINDERS
A reminder to parents that Grade 5/6 Interschool Sports begins next week and we need permission given on Operoo for students to be able to attend.
District Athletics will take place on Wednesday August 23rd. Parents if your child is on the Athletics Team, please sign the Operoo form giving permission for your child to attend.
