Living Well, Learning Well
What an amazing term so far! Our learners have been focusing on our Living Well Learning Well Rules for Living and being able to articulate what the 3 rules are and what they look, sound and feel like within our classrooms and playground.
Our Rules for Living are: I am safe, I am a learner and I am valued, respected and cared for. In our classes, we have been using Y charts for students to voice what they believe learning looks, feels and sounds like in their class. From this, we will be using the student's own words to create posters specific to each class to display our Rules for Living. These will be shared in an upcoming newsletter when they are created.
We are looking forward to working with our students to create our posters!

LOP News
During learning walks and talks across all stages in our school, it has been evident that teachers and students have actively been utilising the quality literature texts purchased by the Catholic Schools Office during guided reading sessions.
In our system, we explicitly teach the balanced reader approach to instil greater reading habits with a laser-like focus on comprehension. Students have thoroughly enjoyed reading the very best children’s books currently available and are working diligently to achieve their independent reading goals.
MaST News
It has been wonderful to see the ‘Great Mathematics Learning Sequence’ in action in the Kindergarten classroom over the last fortnight, where they have been learning all about how to manipulate, sort, and describe 2D Shapes. At the end of this topic, students demonstrated what they had learned by making their own pizzas using 2D shapes as the ingredients, using coloured paper to cut out circles, triangles, squares, and rectangles. Students then recognised and counted how many shapes they have used to make their pizza.

This week, Kindergarten received handmade library bags kindly donated by the Narrabri Lioness Club. Students were able to use on Monday, borrowing books for the first time in our school library with Mrs Towns!
