CAMERATA COMPETITION

Performing Arts staff were thrilled with the large number of students who entered this year’s junior and senior Camerata Competition. The external adjudicators commented on the high caliber all students who entered and found the process of choosing winner and runner up difficult. We applaud all students who participated in this years’ competition.

The Camerata Concert, which features all soloists, will be held on Friday 6 May, in the DPA – please make a note in your diary to come along and listen to our wonderful musicians!

MUSIC CAMP

We are excited that Music Camp is fast approaching and are looking forward to three days of rehearsals with orchestra, concert band, chamber strings and stage band. Please note the following details prior to camp:

What to bring

1. Instrument and music
2. Drink bottle
3. Warm clothing including a waterproof jacket for Dragon Boating
4. Closed in shoes
5. Any medication that needs to be taken throughout the day including Ventolin, antihistamine and EpiPen if relevant

Drop off and pick up times – Allenby Road

8am – 5pm Friday 25 March (Music Leaders should arrive at 7.45am sharp)

8.45am – 9pm Saturday 26 March

8.45am – 3pm Sunday 27 March

RAHT Friday morning

Please ensure that your child completes a rapid antigen test for COVID-19 prior to attending camp on Friday morning. We will be much in each other’s company and wish to keep everyone well as possible. Risk mitigation strategies will also be in place.

Music Camp Concert for parents 2pm Sunday in the DPA

Parents are cordially invited to attend a short, informal concert in the DPA at the conclusion of camp. The concert will start at 2pm and will showcase the music we have worked on at camp. We respectfully request that parents wear a mask to this event; masks will be available at the door.

ONSTAGE VIRTUAL PERFORMANCE 

Thursday 24 March in the PT 5:30pm

Drama students from Years 9 to 12 have a pizza and performance night this Thursday evening. Information has been sent to families and registration for these events is now due.

ORANGE WINTER JAZZ FESTIVAL 

Save the Date

Stage band have been invited to play at this year’s Winter Jazz Festival on Friday 10 June, 6pm. Please save the date – more details to follow!

Piano Masterclass

The piano masterclass which was scheduled for 1 April has been postponed until later in the year. More details to follow.
