Brainstorm Productions

Hello! This report is from two out of the four amazing Wellbeing leaders, Eloise and Emily. We are here to report to you about ‘Saving Lil and Archie’ by Brainstorm Productions, that the whole school was lucky enough to watch on Wednesday the 16th of March.

This production was about how the two robots, Lil and Zig, get teleported to Australia. These robots are designed with Kindness, Forgiveness, Fear and Anger. Lil is desperate to press a dangerous button that transports them to the unknown (Australia). Lil switches their emotions, and takes all the kindness and forgiveness out of Zig leaving him with all the anger and fear and Lil with all kindness and forgiveness.

In Australia, these two robots represented two people, Archie and Bella. Archie has too much anger and aggression and spends late nights on the internet and YouTube. He believes that his family don’t love him and love his sister, Bella more. Bella is full of kindness and forgiveness, so when the people she called friends bully her at school, she doesn't have the confidence to stand up for herself.

Archie’s friends on the bus were all talking about a YouTube video so he decided to watch it. He and Bella learnt some lessons that day when they saw what content that video contained. They could never delete what they saw from their minds. Their parents taught them: if you see something inappropriate or bullying online then

1. Screenshot it

2. Shut the device and stop looking

3. Show a parent or someone you trust

This marvellous production has many other wise messages scattered throughout it, in many clever and entertaining ways. There were lots of ways to avoid being hacked and how to hide your personal details. Some other main messages include an easy way to get rid of your anger. Sleep, cry, tell an adult you trust and exercise. It also recommends many other things like: 1 hour screen time = 1 hour exercise and be supervised online, on YouTube and Social Media. It's important to stay safe on the internet.

Thankyou for reading!

Please ask your child/ren about their thoughts on this production.

Yesterday we saw a play.  My favourite character was Bella.

It was better than the H team.  I liked hearing the fake news.  I also liked the meeting with their mum and dad.  It was cool when Archie got the medal.  I did not know if the medal was real.  The play was really cool because they got all the actions perfect with the music.

The play reminded me to stand up for myself - Julia
