END OF YEAR MASS

Our ‘End of Year Mass’ was celebrated on Thursday November 25 by Fr Matthew Thomas at the Sacred Heart Church. This year, we celebrated our 115th year of Mercy Secondary Education in Mildura and 200 years of Catholic Education in Australia. Service was the core value being emphasised across college events and initiatives, even though we were in lockdown much of the school year and teaching via remote learning.

The End of Year Mass enabled us to celebrate as a whole school community in our Catholic Mercy Tradition. Although still under restrictions, our staff and students were able to come together to farewell the Year 12 students.  Our College Vice Captains, Kevin Simmons and Elly Pantazopoulos , thanked the college and staff on behalf of their cohort, for the support given to them over the past six years. Fr Matt blessed the Year 12 students and 2022 leaders during the ceremony.

Following the conclusion of the Mass, the Year 12 cohort were dismissed from the college for the final time with a round of applause from both staff and students. The Year 12 students then enjoyed a final morning tea in the Sacred Heart Hall.
