A Note from Musicland

It is sometimes amazing to think about how much we achieve at school within the 10 weeks of one term and Term 3 has indeed been a productive and busy one for all who dwell in Musicland.

There have been a number of high quality performances including the school production, which involved 10 students and 5 staff in the band. The music for Guys and Dolls was not a familiar style to the students, but was challenging and rewarding for all involved.  Other performances included:

- Advanced Guitar Ensemble and Chinese Music Ensemble performing at local primary schools: Kew and Alphington Primary schools.

-The Intermediate Concert Band, under the baton of Des Lavelle, performing at the school assembly.

-Kew’s Got Talent: lunchtime concerts organised by Jaspar and Liam, our year 12 Music Captains

-The Jazz and Swing Night at the QPO

-The Advanced guitars performing at the Japanese dinner for the visiting Japanese students and their teachers.

-Lunchtime concerts

Next we will be involved in the preparations, and performances, for Presentation Night, Q UP (our annual concert), Music Camp-the sequel and The Chinese Ensemble taking a road trip to play in Avoca.

I look forward to seeing you at our many performances.
