 Amazing Results

Kew High School sent 14 teams to this year’s Victorian Schools Cup Volleyball tournament in July. The three day tournament showcases the best school teams for Government, Independent and Catholic schools in Victoria and allows our students to put all their training into practice. 

Again, this year all our teams improved throughout the event and we also came away with some really amazing results including:

- GOLD medals for the year 9/10 boys and year 8 boys Maroon teams.

- SILVER medals for the year 10 and year 11 girls teams.

- BRONZE medals for the year 10 girls and year 9 boys  teams.

- Close fourth places for the year 8 boys and girls Gold teams.

The next challenge for our year 8 teams will be the interschool sports competition held by School Sports Victoria. Both teams have won through to District level and will play against other winning teams at the Conference tournament. They will be aiming to replicate the year 9/10 boys team’s success at the State Championship!

In November boys and girls teams will head over to New Zealand to compete in the Junior North Island Volleyball Championships. All the other teams are gearing up for the Australian Schools Cup Volleyball Tournament which is held in December.
