What's Happening at CHPS....

Sports News

A reminder from Mrs. Yorke 🙂

If you love running and would like to build your fitness with community sport returning, Mrs. Yorke will be supervising a “huff and puff” run two mornings a week, before school.

Mondays Year 3 - 6

Tuesdays Prep – 2

Meet Mrs. Yorke on the outside blue courts at 8:40am. If you attend Before School Care, you are welcome to join us at 8:45am.

It was wonderful to see so many students participating this week. Well done and I hope to see you again next week!

Prep & Junior House Sports

I'm so pleased to let you know that Kelly Sports will be coming to CHPS to help run the Prep & Junior House Sports morning.

Date: Thursday 25th November

Time: 9-11:30am

Dress Code: Students can wear their house colours to participate in activities. Please dress appropriately as they are sporting activities.

Please remember to wear your hat and bring a drink bottle.

Please see Compass for consent and payment.  The $6 cost has only been assigned to those families who do not have credit from previously cancelled activities.

Library News

I have now finished sending out emails to all families with overdue books. Thank you all so much for following up on these as we now have it down to just over 200 books – although these books do have a value of nearly $3000.  If your child’s book has still not been returned please ask them to continue to look for these books in their classroom, the classroom that they were in if they were onsite during remote learning and at home. If they are not returned you will receive another email to advise you that they are still outstanding.

A reminder that Scholastic Book club closes today.  Once I close off the school delivery option you can still order but you will need to pay $7.50 delivery and I believe that it is then delivered to your home. Orders placed before I close it do not incur any delivery charge and are sent to the school.

Children, School & COVID

....from First Aid Officer, Sophie Turnham

As usual, a reminder that if your child has any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever
  • Chills and sweats
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath
  • Runny nose
  • Loss or change in sense of smell or taste

Please keep them home.

Parents, please help keep us all safe by ensuring that, if your child does not have an exemption, they leave home with a mask each morning.  A great idea is also to provide some spares in their schoolbag in case of breakages or loss.

Schools are not required to provide student masks and, while we are happy to do our bit to help, we are struggling to keep up with demand.

Middle School Narratives

Last term, a group of our Middle School writers participated in writing workshops that aimed to improve their storytelling ability. Over a number of weeks, Mrs Cassidy guided them through the writing process and they are very excited to share their finished pieces with you today.
