Chaplain's Corner

Here we are in week 7. I have had a busy time setting up the breakfast club and some personal leave so this term has gone quickly for me.

This week I have gotten back to student focus in one on one sessions.  For me as a 2 day a week Chaplain it is a fine balance between what individual students need and what the MPS Community as a whole need each time I am in school.  My main role is to be present and listen.  Something I am always reflecting on as I carry out my role.  Am I listening?  Am I validating the person's own experience.

You may have noticed I am a pretty talkative Chaplain but when I stop to listen I hear amazing stories and heartbreaking struggles and I just admire a person's ability to continue on in the face of their struggles.  We could all listen better to those around us.  Let's keep leaning towards each other this festive season even in the busy!

Breakfast Club Feedback

I want to thank those parents and staff who have given me in person feedback.  It is great to hear how it is impacting the children in a positive way and also issues that we could improve to make breakfast club a fun place to be.  Thank you to those Staff who are putting in so much amongst end of year planning and reports.  You are all gems!

Do you need any help or financial support?

Please contact me through the Admin Office as I will be accessing some funds and supports in the next couple of weeks and would love to hear from anyone who could benefit or anyone else you would like to nominate.  This is a confidential support and I am happy to speak to you privately at any time.

I look forward to seeing you around the school as we wind up the year with some fantastic events.
