Year 12

Year 12 Celebration Day

To the Class of 2021. What an amazing way to celebrate the completion of your secondary school journey!

On Wednesday 17 November, the Class of 2021 gathered for the final time for their Celebration Day. Due to COVID restrictions, this event was delayed so we were able to gather as a year level to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the graduating class. Students arrived in costume and in good spirits ready to have a pizza and gelati lunch and to say a final goodbye to their peers. After a few presentations, students and staff reflected on happy memories of the Class of 2021 over the course of their journeys at the College. There were a lot of laughs and a few tears (mainly from me) as we listened to the stories shared.

Students were also able to watch the Year 12 Video which was completed under the most trying of circumstances. Congratulations to the video editing team in getting this project completed during lockdown and your exams. The video highlighted events and trends that had occurred this year and over the course of their time at the College including the Year 7 'mad dash' to the train and the mannequin challenge, the Year 8 Mimco purse, and of course, 'Code Blue!'. Other memories included the Year 9 Trivia Day and social events, the fabulous Year 10 air conditioners, teacher and student confessions, a song and dance number and a lot of laughs!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this day and made it so special for our Year 12 students. To all the subject and Homeroom teachers who have played a part in shaping the Class of 2021, thank you. We know that these students are where they are today due to the experiences they encountered every day here at Kilbreda. To all non-teaching staff, thank you for all you do behind the scenes to support everything we do here at the College to provide the best opportunities for our students.

FInally, the graduating Class of 2021. Look where you are now! You are celebrating the end of your secondary school journey. Have the courage and confidence to step out of the gates of Kilbreda and be ready to thrive in this world.  You have shown so much determination and resilience in these crazy times.

I wish you every future success and happiness and congratulate you for everything you have achieved. I am so extremely proud of every one of you. Go forward with Strength and Kindliness.
