Kilbreda College and Yarrabah School Community Partnership

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the VCAL Senior and Intermediate students accepted the challenge of finishing the mosaic artwork that will be featured in the welcoming area of Yarrabah School. The students collaborated constructively and creatively. They demonstrated impressive teamwork skills and worked tirelessly to finish the pieces.

Studies have shown that art can have a significant impact on our mood and emotions. Art can help us to feel happier, calmer, or even inspired to do something. The students believe that the mosaic pieces will be a wonderful addition to Yarrabah. They were made with love and joy. Students from both schools should be proud of their efforts.

Our partnership with Yarrabah School provided many opportunities for our  students to live the College values authentically. The students represented the school with pride and distinction. On all occasions, they modelled Strength and Kindliness.

Kilbreda College Values

The very talented Kaitlyn Bailey has been adorning the walls of the Intermediate VCAL Room with our College values.  She is doing an amazing job. Kaitlyn is a delightful student who lives Kilbreda values on a daily basis.

Matilda the Musical

The Year 11 VCAL Intermediate students have been studying conscientiously to meet their final outcomes in Literacy, Numeracy, Personal Development Skills and Work-Related Skills. Additionally, they had been recreating Miss Honey’s Garden for Matilda. Audience members are able to pop into the garden and have their picture taken. What a wonderful memento of this outstanding show.

Thank you to all the students and teachers who enabled VCAL to go from strength to strength in 2021. Bring on 2022!
