U12 cricket

U12’s registered their second win of the season with a 6 wicket victory over Millthorpe CC. Our bowling was not as accurate as has been the case in the past, so a formidable run chase was ahead. The exception to that was George Nash who excelled with the ball, taking 1/10 off his 3 overs. 2 catches to Tom Hughes and one to Daniel Rourke pegged back Millthorpe in the latter stages of the first innings.

Chasing 122 to win off 25 overs some suspect running between the wickets created confusion early and the pressure was well and truly on our middle order. Skipper for today, Ben Chamber’s and Tom Hughes steadied the ship, both retiring not out to put us in a strong position needing 4 an over off the last 8 overs to seal the win. Daniel Rourke, Tom Mason and George Nash (11 not out) all retired not out after facing their allotted 30 balls before Lucas Choi and Vivaan Desai saw us over the line with an over to spare.

The team is building well despite disruption from the weather and we look forward to our next fixture on the 4th of December as we have a BYE on 27 November.

Basketball

Year 6 Boys Basketball had a thrilling draw in their clash with the Kinross Pacers, at the end of the match they were celebrating as if they had won. The boys have made incredible improvements in a short space of time and should be hugely proud of this effort.

On Monday the 22nd, the Yr 4&5 Boys basketball recorded their first win of the season with a 13-9 victory over the Bletchington Blazers in Division 1 of the boys primary competition. A real team effort and a credit to how hard the boys have been working this term. The referee also commented after the game how well the boys played. It is great to see the team working so well together both at training and during games, the hard work is paying off.
