Year 8s explore Chinatown

Year 8 students of Chinatown Excursion
Over the course of the last couple of weeks, all Year 8 students of Chinese had the excursion to Chinatown, Melbourne. The excursion consisted of three main activities:
1. Guided tour at the Chinese Museum – By listening to the tour guide, students learned to understand the Chinese heritage in Australia and Chinese culture through artefacts.
2. Hanzi (Chinese characters) Hunting along Little Bourke Street – Students worked in groups to find out meaning of the signs of Hanzi. They had a time limit and competed to win.
3. Ordering their own food in a Chinese restaurant – Students ordered their own food in Chinese by applying what they have learnt in Chinese.
Our students of Chinese were very engaged with these activities and learned a lot through the excursion. Here are some photos to let us have a peek how the excursion went.
